DairyWeb is designed to be a comprehensive source of information about all aspects of milk production, including articles, videos, slide shows, calculators and other resources.

Three ways in

Browse. The subject hierarchy arranges the library from calves and heifers through to the milking cow. Numbers in brackets show how many papers sit under each heading.

Search. Search looks through the title and summary of every catalogued paper and through Dairy Notes. Type one or more words; results narrow as you add words.

Collections. If you know where a paper was presented, go to Collections and pick the conference and year, or the volume and number of the Western Dairy Digest.

What is in a record

Every catalogued document has a record page with its title, summary, source, year and the headings it is filed under. The record links to the document itself. Where other publications cite the document, the record lists some of them.

Links to PDF files

Many books, journal papers and web pages refer to documents in this library by their original file address, for example /Resources/WCDS2006/Ruegg.pdf. Those addresses still work and open the document itself. Each document also has a record page at the same address ending in .html.

Dairy Notes

Dairy Notes explain terms in a few paragraphs. They are a starting point, written for producers and students, and link on to the papers.

Using the information

The papers were written by researchers, veterinarians and extension staff for the conditions and years they describe. Recommendations change. For decisions on your own herd, talk to your veterinarian or nutritionist.
